Vesper utilizes contextual alternates in a special way. Many letters contain multiple versions with subtle alterations: serifs retract or extend, letters’ arms or legs become longer or shorter, and the spacing adjusts slightly.
These will lessen dark spots from serifs clashing into each other and also reduce large, empty gaps when letters are farther apart. The result is smoother, more even text that is even saves some space!
